We’re about living life with Jesus — and you’re invited to come just as you are. Whether you’re sceptical, curious, or already a Christian, you’ll find a place here with us at St Luke's Anglican Church, Emerald & Blackwater.
Plan Your Visit
Thinking of visiting? Here’s what you can expect:
-
9.30 am in Emerald, every Sunday
-
3.00 pm in Blackwater, 1st and 3rd Sundays
-
Around 75 minutes, plus we’d love you to stay for a cuppa afterwards.
Come as you are! Most people dress casually, like they would for the pub or the movies.
Believers come to church to:
-
Sing praises to our awesome God.
-
Admit our need for God ('confession').
-
Listen to God by reading the Bible.
-
We hear a message (‘sermon’) to reflect on God’s words.
-
We pray (you don't have to pray out loud, just listen).
-
Remember what Jesus has done for us and strengthen our faith by receiving bread and wine – called the ‘Lord’s Supper’.
We do use a prayer book to guide our thoughts and prayers, which draws on the wisdom of holy men and women who have gone before us.
-
Not at all!
We’d love to have your children at church. We have a children’s program (Prep-year 6) every Sunday in school term in Emerald.
We have activity packs and play area for toddlers.
We also have a space for prams, and there is a ramp up to the church.
Teens stay in church, but we have a midweek group in Emerald; ‘Luke’s Youth’Yes, we have a ramp for wheelchairs into the church and hall (for a cuppa afterwards).
